Brent Johnson

Johnson is another in a long line of undersized (5-foot-11, 160 pounds) offensive-minded defensemen available in this year's draft. A native of Dallas, Johnson was one of the USHL's best rearguards this past season. His 11 goals placed him third among all USHL defenders and his 32 points placed him tied for fifth. It was quite a season for Johnson considering the significant step up in competition he faced this year. He needs to get considerably stronger and work on his play in his own zone, but Johnson, who is headed to the University of North Dakota, has middle-six potential down the road if it all comes together.
