Gallant has just four NHL games under his belt while with the Islanders back in 2013-14 and registered 17 PIM and nine hits in those outings. The 27-year-old has a disappointing 2015-16 season as he managed just one lone assist in 48 contests. If he is unclaimed off the waiver wire, the winger will be sent to AHL Cleveland.

In 58 games for Bridgeport of the AHL last season, Gallant had one goal, one assist, and 255 penalty minutes. The problem for him is that he is behind Eric Boulton in the so-called punching order and would need an injury to him again to get back into the lineup. He'll continue to pound opposing players in Bridgeport to at least start the season.
