Pothier is headed to play in Switzerland according to the Tribune de Geneve, CSNwashington.com reports. Pothier will play for Geneva-Servette, although it hasn't been confirmed he's signed his contract yet.
ANALYSIS
Pothier was an unrestricted free agent and it was dubious that the Hurricanes would be able to re-sign him, so that's no longer a worry. Pothier was dealt to Carolina in exchange for Joe Corvo and Scott Walker down the stretch, and with Corvo coming back to the 'Canes and Anton Babchuk coming back as well, it's little surprise we won't see Pothier in a Carolina uniform this season.

Pothier's career is still in jeopardy after a 14 month absence from the game due to concussions.
The team seems pessimistic about his future, considering the young defensive prospects waiting in the wings. He played in 47 games over the past two seasons and it is interesting at what the Caps will do with him this year. Obviously stay away, he has no fantasy value.
