Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
For those of you not familiar with professional hockey's minor league system, the ECHL is on a level even lower than the AHL, the highest developmental level for the NHL. In the league, which has a maximum annual salary of around $250,000, Rhodes makes $2.75 million annually as per the deal he signed with Atlanta a few years back before he was beset by injuries. Taking a gander at Rhodes's bloated stats at such a low level -- as well as Thrasher goalies Pasi Nurminen, Keri Lehtonen, Byron Dafoe, and Milan Hnilicka -- it looks like he will just play out of the remainder of his contract in the minors and then will be out of the Atlanta organization.
