Kelly is projecting as a stay-at-home defender in the NHL after his time in the OHL with Kitchener. He notched a combined 13 points over 115 AHL contests the last two seasons. Odds are he will play in Albany again this season.

Kelly was called up by the Devils last season but did not appear in an NHL contest. The 22-year old had seven points in 61 games with Albany (AHL) and is likely to start the season in the AHL.
