Reese agreed to terms on a contract with Husqvarna Vatterstad on Monday.

ANALYSIS
Reese has not played in contest in the majors since the 2014-15 campaign, as he's spent the bulk of his playing time over the last two seasons in the AHL, where he tallied 48 points. Given his limited game action, it seems unlikely the 31-year-old blueliner will be returning to an NHL roster any time soon.

A Pittsburgh native, Reese signed a two-way deal with the Penguins. The defender has scored three goals and 17 points in 74 NHL contests with the Islanders. He's in the hunt for a bottom pairing with the Pens and will need to prove himself during training camp. That said, he figures to be bounced from the lineup whenever Pittsburgh begins to promote its young blueliners like Joe Morrow and Brian Dumoulin.

Signed a one-year, two-way contract with Pittsburgh in July 2012 worth $600,000 at the NHL level.

Reese had his cup of coffee in the NHL last season, playing in 19 games and tabulating two goals and two assists. He is ticketed to begin the season in the AHL but will eventually see time with the Isles once injuries hit.
