Strudwick, a free agent, has yet to receive any contract offers this offseason, the Edmonton Journal reports.

“I’d still like to play, but if I don’t, well, I can live with that. I don’t know if I’d want to go a camp for two or three weeks (on a tryout) and then, say, get cut,” said Strudwick. The 36-year-old blueliner has a wealth of NHL experience, having played in 674 career games between five different clubs, including the Oilers from 2008-11. Still, he's amassed just 13 goals and 42 assists at hockey's highest level of competition and that simply doesn't cut it in the world of fantasy hockey.

Strudwick has zero value to a fantasy team as he has never produced double digit points while in the NHL, but the Oilers love him because he can play defense or wing in a pinch, and doesn't complain when he is a healthy scratch.
He'll reprise his role as the Oilers' sixth or seventh blueliner this season. There's not much fantasy value to be squeezed out of him. He also can play wing in a pinch from time to time.
It's a wonder how Strudwick is able to hang onto this team, but obviously the coaching staff and the organization sees something in Strudwick that they like. He'll be nothing more than a depth guy, and rotated in between the 6th and 7th defenseman slot during the course of the season.
