Novotny's eight goals and 22 points in '07-'08 were career highs, and he'll try to hang on to a fourth line job in camp.
Novotny has never been able to translate his skill into NHL production, and the Blue Jackets might be his last chance to prove he can figure it out.
Novotny will have a tough time cracking the Buffalo lineup in 2006-07 with everyone healthy once again. Barring injury, Novotny will likely spend this season in the minors.
