Szwarz spent the bulk of the 2019-20 campaign playing in the AHL with Belleville for which he notched 18 goals and 18 helpers. In his three games with Ottawa, the winger failed to register a point while averaging a meager 4:55 of ice time. At this point, it seems unlikely the 28-year-old will get another opportunity to break into the NHL.

Szwarz is coming off a fine season in the minors that saw him score 48 points (21 goals, 27 assists) in 52 games for AHL Providence, while sporting a spiffy plus-30 rating. He also saw 12 games with the big club, en route to logging three helpers. While the 27-year-old isn't viewed as a top prospect by the Bruins, he's capable of holding his own at the NHL level which gives him utility as an organizational depth guy.
