MacLean earned his first multi-point effort of the season by assisting on both of linemate Marc Gatcomb's tallies in the contest. The 25-year-old MacLean also snapped a six-game point drought. He's served in a fourth-line role throughout 2024-25, earning four goals, seven assists, 56 shots on net, 101 hits, 27 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 75 appearances. That's just a little better than his nine-point showing as a rookie over 32 games in 2023-24, though offense has been hard to come by for many of the Islanders' players.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
A relative unknown heading into 2023-24, MacLean established himself as a reliable bottom-six forward with nine points in 32 regular-season games with the Islanders, becoming a permanent part of the lineup in late February. He was able to turn that into a three-year deal to stay with the Islanders going forward, albeit on a league-minimum salary that makes it easy to send him back to the AHL if he doesn't replicate his results. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much of the 25-year-old center -- a likely fourth-line role on a defense-first team is far from attractive, but he could push for the 20-point mark and add over 100 hits if he plays in the NHL all year.
