Pilut is expected to miss the first few weeks of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery in May, and he could well be relegated to the AHL after that given the depth Buffalo has amassed on the blue line. The 23-year-old Swede brings an average size profile at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, and nothing jumps out about the six points and minus-8 rating he posted in 33 games as a rookie last season. Factor in the injury, and it becomes safe to ignore Pilut on draft day.
