ANALYSIS
Omark has spent the past five seasons playing in the KHL for Ufa Salavat Yulayev and reached the 50-point mark in four of those campaigns. Despite the solid numbers overseas, the winger was never able to put it all together in the NHL. In 79 outings for Edmonton and Buffalo earlier in the decade, the 33-year-old notched just eight goals and 24 helpers.

At one point, Omark was thought to be a building block for the Oilers, but his uneven play and mental makeup clouded his future in Edmonton. Omark was even rumored to be on the trading block at the June draft, but nothing happened. He even took to Twitter to plea for a trade, but the club chose to qualify him as a restricted free agent instead. Omark was slated to begin the season in the AHL, but instead signed a one-year deal with Zug of the Swiss league. This could end his NHL career.
