				  ANALYSIS
Gernat was drafted by the Oilers with a fifth-round pick in 2011, but he would end up getting stuck in the minor leagues. In fact, he failed to land an NHL gig despite getting sent to the Ducks in a trade that involved NHL-regular Patrick Maroon this season.

Gernat turned pro last season and delivered four goals and 17 assists in 57 games for Oklahoma City of the AHL last season. The big Slovak (6-foot-5) will be a beast once he fills out and has the kind of high-level hockey smarts that will make him a fave of his NHL coach. He will begin year two in OKC as well and continue his development there, but he'll rocket onto our prospect radar if he can double his production this season.
