Olimb is best known for playing in the 2010 Winter Olympics with Team Norway where he accumulated a pair of assists in four games. Olimb, 24, spent the 2009-10 season with Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League, leading the team with 25 assists and ranking third with 34 points in 55 regular-season contests. He added four points (goal and three assists) in seven postseason games. Olimb spent the 2004-05 season in North America in the Ontario Hockey League. He skated in 57 games with the Sarnia Sting and London Knights, where he was a teammate of Blackhawks' forward Dave Bolland.
