ANALYSIS
The battle for the backup job in Smashville figures to be a three-way competition between O'Connor, Juuse Saros and Marek Mazanec. Saros figures to have a leg up on the other netminders after having served as the No. 2 for much of the season, which means O'Connor would end up in AHL Milwaukee. Last year with AHL Binghamton, the 25-year-old logged a 14-18-1 record with a disappointing .895 save percentage.

With a subpar 14-18-1 record and .895 save percentage with AHL Binghamton last season, O'Connor was cut loose from the Senators' organization and wound up signing a one-year, two-way contract with the Predators in July. With Juuse Saros having all but locked up the role of backup to Pekka Rinne this season, O'Connor is expected to wind up at AHL Milwaukee competing with Marek Mazanec for the Admirals' starting goalie job.
After completing a stellar senior season at Boston University, O'Connor was one of college hockey's most desireable free agents this spring. He ultimately landed a lucrative deal with the Senators, and is expected to work as the No. 1 netminder at AHL Binghamton this season. During his 2014-15 college campaign, the 23-year-old rung up an impressive 25-4-4 record, .927 save percentage, and 2.18 GAA, numbers that bold well for his transition to professional hockey. O'Connor will retain his most value in dynasty formats, as he's not expected to dress for the Senators this season unless either Craig Anderson or Andrew Hammond goes down with an injury.
