The Wild have traded Palmieri and Darroll Powe to the Rangers for Mike Rupp, the team's official site.
				  ANALYSIS
Palmieri has recorded 21 points in 40 games with AHL Houston to date, so he could earn a call-up at some point soon when the Rangers are looking to add some depth up front.

Received with Darroll Powe from Minnesota for Mike Rupp, the 24-year-old Palmieri has plenty of size (6'3, 230-pound) and 4-plus seasons of AHL experience. Originally drafted 79th overall in the 2007 entry draft, Palmieri (not related to Kyle Palmieri of Anaheim, by the way) has 13 goals, 12 assists and 20 penalty minutes in 87 career NHL games. More recently, he totaled 13 goals, 17 assists with a plus-12 rating in split time with the Houston Aeros and the Hartford Wolf Pack this past season. While we're hesitant to say he's fantasy irrelevant, we also suggest you monitor with cautious expectations.
