The Baby Penguins signed Dimitrakos to a tryout contract, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old forward has spent the last three years playing in Europe. "He's got a great track record of being a good offensive-minded player and a good power-play guy," Baby Pens coach John Hynes said. "We'll give him an opportunity to see if can come in and do things we want to do and fit into our team."

Dimitrakos will likely start the year with Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton. Because of his experience, he should be one of the few forwards that Ottawa calls up to replace any injured players. If he does get called up, Dimitrakos will not get first or second line minutes but could end up as part of an energy line.
Dimitrakos is your classic 3rd liner. He chips in with some points here and there and he plays a hard game. He should not be on your fantasy team.
Dimitrakos is still a work in progress as an offensive player; he had 24 points in 68 games back in 2003-04, occasionally seeing action on the team's first line. He does have the hands and offensive skills to be a producer of note, however, so keep him on your very deep sleeper list, depending on who he's skating with in October.
