Laba is a candidate to jump back and forth between the NHL and AHL levels, making him a risky play in all fantasy formats. However, he could develop into a deep-league stash if he stays at the NHL level.

Laba was selected by the organization in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft and has finally made it to the main event. After wrapping up his collegiate career last year, the 22-year-old center had a cup of coffee in the AHL, logging 11 games for AHL Hartford in which he garnered three goals and two assists. Laba is far from a lock to spend the entire campaign in the NHL, but he clearly showed the organization enough to at least get a chance to prove himself at the NHL level.
