Shawn Lalonde

Lalonde is an offense-first defender, but he saw his second AHL season scoring numbers drop dramatically from 32 in 2010-11 to a mere 13 in 2011-12. We're not fretting, though -- it appears he simply threw his focus into his own-zone play (thank goodness) and it came at the expense of a bit of scoring. We're impressed with the jump from minus-16 to minus-2; it tells us his game may actually be growing. Watch for the offense to pick up again, but that doesn't mean he's destined for NHL time soon. He needs to consolidate things before we're sold.
