Russian off to upstate New York
Sardarian was drafted 88th overall by the Sabres at the 2021 NHL Draft on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The rare Russian prospect set to attend a United States college, Sardarian is a 2022-23 commit to the University of New Hampshire. His stock was on the rise this past season following an excellent year (nine goals, 30 points in 50 games) in Russia's MHL as a 17-year-old. Sardarian's greatest attribute is his ability to read opposing defenders and make plays under pressure. It's going to be a while until he helps the Sabres, but this was a fine pick for Buffalo.

Joining Northern Michigan
Sardarian is reportedly joining North Michigan University for the upcoming NCAA season, per Sydney Wolf of The Rink Live on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Sardarian spent the last two seasons playing for the University of New Hampshire, registering nine goals and 12 assists in 61 appearances. The Russian-born winger will look to better showcase his skills with the Wildcats this upcoming year and perhaps convince the Sabres to give him an entry-level contract at the end of the 2024-25 season.
