Taylor (hip) will not play in Saturday's game in Atlanta, the Tampa Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Saturday's game was the last chance for him to end his 13-year career on the ice. Although he is likely healthy enough to play, he said he would rather remember the Game 6 loss to New Jersey in the 2007 playoffs as his last game than a season-ending matchup with nothing at stake. He hopes to remain a part of the Lightning organization to some capacity, possibly scouting for the club in his native Canada.

Taylor will be out the entire 2007-2008 season following hip surgery. He believes he'll return sooner but we think this is the end for a valiant plugger.
Taylor, who was named team captain before the start of this season, is your prototypical blue-collar player. He'll get in your face if you're lazy and he'll sacrifice his body to block a shot or prevent a break. He just is no good at all in the fantasy world.
Taylor is one of the steadiest faceoff men in the NHL who also happens to be one of the league's best checking line forwards. Unfortunately, his kind of player looks better in his real uniform than in a fantasy one. Stay away draft day.
