Tynan re-upped with Colorado during the offseason in the form of a one-year, two-way deal. The 2011 third-round selection has been an electric playmaker at the AHL level during his professional career, but that hasn’t translated to statistical success whenever he receives an opportunity to play in the NHL. The 33-year-old appeared in nine games for the Avalanche during the 2024-25 regular season, recording just an assist and a minus-1 rating, but he generated eight goals and 41 helpers over 52 outings with AHL Colorado. The Texas native may be able to earn a roster spot with the big club out of training camp because of Logan O’Connor’s hip injury, but Tynan is unlikely to be much of a fantasy factor in 2025-26. Tynan finally got his first three games of NHL experience last year, but failed to get on the scoresheet with the Blue Jackets. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound forward doesn't possess the elite skill level that has allowed other players of his stature to flourish, topping 40 points in the AHL over each of the past three seasons but failing to reach 50. Unless he takes a major step forward at age 25, don't expect Tynan to dress for many games in Vegas.
