The Jets have acquired Kubalik from the Blue Jackets in exchange for Spencer Machacek, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Kubalik, who has played 54 games with AHL Springfield this season, recording 20 points in the process, has 12 NHL games (with four points to his credit) under his belt. He has yet to appear in an NHL game this season, however.

Kubalik was a big disappointment last season, scoring just 11 goals and 23 points in 50 AHL contests, but he's still young enough to turn things around and put himself back in the Blue Jackets' plans as a gritty winger with top-nine potential.
Kubalik's first pro season was just as impressive as his only QMJHL season, and the young Czech winger has put himself firmly in the Blue Jackets' future plans. He's still got to fill out and improve his skating, but his combination of skill, size and grit could make him a top-six fixture down the road.
Physical forward scored 33-42-75 with 95 PIMs in 58 games in the QMJHL, but may need a season or two in the AHL before he gets a look with the Blue Jackets.
