				  ANALYSIS
The Bolts wanted to sign him and bring him to North America, but he will remain in Russia to honor the terms of his current contract. There was a chance this NHL-ready goalie was headed to Tampa Bay but the young man decided it was important for him to honor his contract which had been recently sold to another Russian Super League team (Kazan). He played for Russia at the 2007 world championships and was 17-13-6 in 40 games with a 2.08 goals-against average last season for Lada Togliatti.

Koshechkin opened a lot of eyes last season in the Russian Super League. Sure, some of it was because he's one of the tallest (6'6") of all time. But most was because of his outstanding play -- he was a star in the RSL at age 23. He's a potential franchise goalie but he'll spend yet another year overseas. Keeper leaguers need to monitor him.
