Victor Antipin

Signed to a one-year deal after leading all KHL defensemen in goals during the playoffs, Antipin is a two-time champion in Russia and a three-time World Championship medalist who's known as a two-way defenseman with solid puck skills. That said, he recorded a relatively modest career high of 24 points in 59 regular-season games for Magnitogorsk Metallurg last year. At 24 years old, Antipin comes to the NHL as a polished player, although he'll still need to adjust to the smaller ice surface and faster speeds. The Sabres' blue line has been revamped, which means Antipin will have to earn a roster spot with his play, but he certainly has the ability to be a second-pairing defenseman and a power-play quarterback
