Andrew Suarez
Snapped up by Twins
PLG Twins
January 4, 2021
Suarez officially signed with the Twins on Monday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.
The 28-year-old lefty's 4.66 ERA in 202.2 career major-league innings will make him one of the more accomplished former MLB pitchers in Korea, outshining incumbent Twins ace Casey Kelly's 5.46 ERA in 85.2 innings at the highest level by a fair amount and potentially setting up a formidable one-two punch atop the team's rotation. He's only been trusted to throw 42.1 big-league innings over the past two years, however, struggling to a 30:20 K:BB, 5.31 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over those frames, so he'll have some work to do if he's to get his career back on track.
