Submits in the second round at Bellator 205
StrawweightBellator
September 21, 2018
Kielholtz lost to Veta Arteaga via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:24 of Round 2 at Bellator 205 on Friday in Boise, Idaho.
ANALYSIS
Kielholtz's quest to be a two-sport Bellator champion hit a snag with this loss. In the first round, she had a lot of success with her punches. Arteaga came forward and threw wild punches. Kielholtz was able to beat her to the punch and land the better shots. In the second round, Arteaga finally broke through and scored a takedown. She threatened with a near back take, before Kielholtz got back to her feet. The kickboxer then went for a takedown of her own. Arteaga used the opportunity to lock in a guillotine choke and finish the fight. This was Kielholtz's first loss in Bellator MMA after winning her previous two fights. It will be interesting to see if she continues to campaign in MMA or goes back to her kickboxing roots where she still holds the Bellator title.

Continues MMA sabbatical, picks up second win at Bellator 196

Kielholtz defeated Petra Castkova via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at Bellator 196 on Friday in Budapest, Hungary.
ANALYSIS
Kielholtz is the reigning Bellator Kickboxing flyweight champion. However, in her two Bellator MMA fights, she has done her best work on the ground and in the clinch. On the feet, she clearly had a technique and polish advantage, but she was at a severe reach and range disadvantage. She stalked Castkova around the cage and landed strikes. However, she still ate a lot of shots against an overmatched opponent. Kielholtz improves to 2-1 in MMA and 2-0 in Bellator. The flyweight division is starved for challengers, so another win might put her into the title picture.
Picks up quick submission win in Bellator MMA debut

Kielholtz defeated Jessica Middleton via submission (scarfhold armbar) at 1:16 of Round 1 at Belltor 188 on Thursday in Tel Aviv, Israel.
ANALYSIS
Kielholtz had made her MMA debut two years ago without very much fanfare. After winning the Bellator Kickboxing flyweight championship and defended the belt once, she decided to return to MMA. Despite coming from a striking background, she was able to score the finish with a submission less than two minutes into the first round. Kielholtz came out throwing hard punches, but when Middleton closed the distance she countered with a head and arm throw. From there, she locked in a scarfhold armbar and got the tap. It will be interesting to see where she goes in the Bellator flyweight division. Middleton was certainly not in the title picture, but she was 2-2 in the promotion going into this fight.
