Suffers first career loss
BantamweightUFC
August 17, 2019
Bermudez lost to Casey Kenney via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 241 on Saturday in Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
It's the first professional loss of Bermudez's career. Blessed with a significant size advantage and entering as a healthy (-170) favorite, Bermudez started very slowly in Rounds 1 and 2 before picking up the pace in the third and final frame. By then, the damage had already been done. Bermudez did land three of four takedown attempts, but Kenney's consistent work from the bottom severely limited Bermudez's ability to take advantage of his positional edge. Bermudez remains an intriguing prospect, but the 25-year-old's stock took a hit with this performance.

Bout weight class changed
BantamweightUFC
August 16, 2019
Bermudez's fight with Casey Kenney has been adjusted to a 140-pound catchweight, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bermudez missed weight in his last bout against Benito Lopez, so the weight change may be a result of a fear that he may miss the mark again. To alleviate any of those worries, the UFC suggest an adjustment in the weight class and both fighters agreed to it. Bermudez checks in as the favorite at -150 as of Friday morning.

He is coming off a victory at UFC on ESPN 1 back in February over Benito Lopez via submission, with the finish being nothing new for the 24-year-old. Each of Bermudez's last six victories ended via submission and only one went beyond the first round.
Flexes submission skill

February 17, 2019
Bermudez defeated Benito Lopez via submission (D'arce choke) at 3:09 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 1 on Sunday in Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
It was clear from the start that Bermudez had the grappling advantage in this fight. He came close on a few guillotine chokes, but Lopez was able to scramble out. As they continued to scramble, Lopez left his chin out once again. This time Bermudez did not miss the chance. He locked on a d'arce choke and finished the fight. Even though he missed weight for this fight, Bermudez was able to pick up his third-straight win in the UFC and extended his career record to 14-0.

Bermudez weighed in at 140 pounds Saturday morning -- four pounds over the bantamweight limit -- for his matchup against Benito Lopez at UFC Phoenix, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The fight will still go on as planned, with Bermudez to be fined 30 percent of his fight purse. This is the third UFC fight for "The Bermudez Triangle," and the first time he has missed his mark. As of Saturday evening, he remains approximately a (-175) betting favorite for the matchup.
Shows off submission skills in first-round victory
BantamweightUFC
July 22, 2018
Bermudez defeated Davey Grant via submission (triangle choke) at 0:59 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 134 on Sunday in Hamburg, Germany.
ANALYSIS
Bermudez established his dominance early in the fight, dropping Grant with a right hand in the first 20 seconds. The undefeated fighter went to work on the ground after that, locking up the triangle and applying a squeeze until his opponent went to sleep. Bermudez's striking didn't seem up to par in his UFC debut but if he can continue to make strides with his hands he may be someone to watch for at bantamweight due to his impressive grappling skills. Bermudez moves to 12-0 as a result of the victory.
