Rodriguez lost to Rani Yahya via submission (arm-triangle) at 3:09 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This one was essentially over before the opening bell rang. Facing one of the most decorated submission specialists in company history, Rodriguez was seemingly trying to defending off Yahya's attempts throughout the course of the bout. He lasted just over eight minutes. Rodriguez earned a UFC opportunity despite being knocked out on Dana White's Contender Series back in August 2019. He has now been submitted in each of his first two official fights with the company and the odds are against the 33-year-old getting another chance. There simply isn't much here.

Rodriguez will now take on Rani Yahya in a bantamweight matchup at a UFC event scheduled for March 13, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez was initially slated to face Irwin Rivera in March, but Rivera withdrew from the matchup due to his recent arrest. He'll now face Yahya, who fought to a majority draw against Enrique Barzola at UFC Brasilia in March of 2020. Rodriguez lost to Brian Kelleher via submission (Guillotine choke) at UFC Fight Night in early September. Since he fought on short notice, he'll get another opportunity with the promotion and will get more time to prepare for his matchup against Yahya. Rodriguez carries advantages in both height and reach.

Rodriguez will be facing Irwin Rivera in a bantamweight bout at the UFC event March 13, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez made his UFC debut back in September where he ended up being submitted by Brian Kelleher on short notice. Now he will get plenty of time to get ready for his opponent where he will have a three inch reach advantage. Rodriguez sports a 16-7 career MMA record.

Rodriguez lost to Brian Kelleher via submission (Guillotine choke) at 0:39 seconds of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez took this fight with just a few hours to prepare after Kevin Natividad had to be removed from the card, so he can be forgiven for not knowing that Kelleher has an incredible guillotine choke. He found out first hand on Saturday, as he was locked into the submission seconds after successfully landing a takedown. The UFC has a habit of giving second opportunities to fighters who take bouts on short notice, so it seems likely that Rodriguez will be back to show off what is actually a fairly well-rounded skill set. He falls to 16-7 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
Steps in on short notice

Rodriguez will take on Brian Kelleher in a featherweight matchup Saturday, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez weighed in as a potential replacement Friday, and he'll step in for Kevin Natividad hours before the scheduled matchup. Rodriguez won three of his past four fights, most recently defeating Andy Perez via submission at Combate Americas 49 in November. Kelleher had his two-fight winning streak snapped when he was defeated by Cody Stamann via unanimous decision at UFC 250 in June. Rodriguez has advantages in both height and reach.
