Matched against Wu Yanan
BantamweightUFC
January 13, 2022
Nunes will take on Wu Yanan on Feb. 26, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Nunes will be fighting under the UFC banner for the second time. She looked quite good in her promotional debut in August, knocking out Bea Malecki just before the end of the first round. In Wu, she'll face an opponent whose UFC career has gotten off to a poor start, as she's lost three of her first four fights since joining the organization in 2017.

Cruises in UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
August 21, 2021
Nunes defeated Bea Malecki via KO (punch) at 4:54 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 29 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Nunes had to wait an extra four months to make her UFC debut after Zarah Fairn missed weight by eight pounds for their scheduled bout this past April. It didn't impact her in the least. Entering as a +140 underdog, Nunes overwhelmed her opponent on the feet. She fired off plenty of combinations and kept up the pressure on Malecki. Nunes looked exhausted by the time the fight ended, and she will have to learn to pick her spots a bit better, but the Brazilian has now racked up seven knockout wins in her first nine professional bouts. Any woman with this kind of power is worth keeping an eye on. That power also happened to earn her a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus when it was all said and done -- one of four handed out on the evening.
Debuting in August
BantamweightUFC
May 31, 2021
Nunes will take on Bea Malecki (undisclosed) in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Fight Night on Aug. 21, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Nunes was slated to make her UFC debut in April, but the fight was called off after Zarah Fairn came in at eight pounds overweight ahead of the matchup. She'll now make her first appearance under the UFC banner against Malecki, who withdrew from her scheduled fight in April for an undisclosed reason. Malecki most recently defeated Veronica Macedo via unanimous decision in March 2020 and has now won her first two fights with the promotion. Malecki has an advantage in height.
Debut put on hold
BantamweightUFC
April 16, 2021
Nunes will no longer be fighting Zarah Fairn at the UFC event Saturday after Fairn came in at eight pounds overweight at Friday's weigh-ins, Nolan King of MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Nunes inked a deal with the UFC in January and was set to make her promotional debut in April until things didn't cooperate at Friday's weigh-in. The UFC would not allow the fight to happen with such a weight discrepancy between her and Fairn, as she'll now have to wait a bit longer for another chance to arise down the road.
Making UFC debut in April
BantamweightUFC
March 31, 2021
Nunes (7-1-0) is scheduled to face Zarah Fairn (6-4-0) in a bantamweight fight at the UFC's April 17 event, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Nunes will be making her UFC debut in April after building her career record up to 7-1-0 before signing with the promotion earlier in 2021. Fairn, meanwhile, will be looking to rebound against the UFC newcomer after losing to Megan Anderson and Felicia Spencer in her last two trips to the Octagon.
