May 17, 2021
Bush (8-3-0) is scheduled to face Zhu Rong (17-4-0) in a lightweight fight during the UFC's Sept. 18 event, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
The Bush-Zhu fight is the first bout rumored to be included on the Sept. 18 card, which currently lacks a location. After signing with the UFC earlier this year, Bush lost in his promotional debut April 17, falling to Austin Hubbard in a unanimous decision.
Drops late-notice decision in debut
April 17, 2021
Bush lost to Austin Hubbard via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
It was a reasonable effort from Bush considering he found out he would be making his UFC debut less than a week ago. He had a strong first round before his cardio and overall energy level quickly faded. Bush found himself being controlled on the mat for a large portion of the final two rounds. Nonetheless, Bush showed more than enough in his debut to earn another fight with the company. It will be interesting to see how he performs with a full training camp under his belt.
Making UFC debut Saturday
April 12, 2021
Bush (8-2-0) is scheduled to face Austin Hubbard (12-5-0) in a lightweight fight Saturday at the UFC's event in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
Bush will be called upon to make his UFC debut as a late-notice replacement for Natan Levy, who withdrew from the matchup with Hubbard over the weekend due to an undisclosed recurring injury. The 26-year-old Bush heads to the Octagon with a two-game winning streak, with both of his victories coming as a member of the Legacy Fighting Alliance promotion.
