Suffers second straight Round 1 KO loss
LightweightOther
December 8, 2018
Laprise lost to Dhiego Lima via KO (punch) at 1:37 of Round 1 at UFC 231 on Saturday in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Given that Lima is one of the worst fighters on the UFC roster, it's safe to say that this loss is a crushing one for Laprise. When you add in the fact it came in his home country of Canada, it gets even worse. Laprise was in desperate need of a solid performance on the heels of his first-round knockout loss to the talented Vicente Luque in May and it never materialized. Laprise's dreams of entering the title picture in the UFC's welterweight division are over.

He's 2-1 since returning to the welterweight division with wins over Galore Bofando and Brian Camozzi. He'll return to his home nation of Canada to take on Lima after spending two of his last four outings north of the border.

Laprise lost to Vicente Luque via KO (punches) at 4:16 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Santiago, Chile.
ANALYSIS
Laprise needed to get this fight on the ground. He closed the distance early and secured a body lock. However, he was not able to drag the fight to the ground. He tried to keep up his movement on the outside, but it was only a matter of time. Luque eventually close the distance and dropped Laprise with a punch. The Canadian tried to recover, but Luque was all over him and finished the fight. This loss stopped a three-fight winning streak for Laprise.
