Struggles after long layoff
September 12, 2020
Patrick lost to Bobby Green via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Patrick's first fight in nearly two years did not go well, as the Brazilian clearly dropped all three rounds. Patrick attempted to implement his wrestling game knowing Green's propensity to excel in reckless brawls but ended up failing on all five of his takedown attempts. In fact, it was Green who ended up landing three of his four tries. It's understandable that Patrick was rusty given all the time he spent on the sidelines, but he simply cannot afford performances like this given his advanced age. Patrick turned 37 years old this past July and is going to have to get back into the Octagon in short order if he hopes to make any sort of run at 155 pounds. Patrick's last victory came on February 3, 2018.
Facing Green September 12
September 2, 2020
Patrick will now fight Bobby Green in a lightweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for September 12, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Patrick's original opponent, Kazula Vargas, withdrew with a undisclosed injury. Green will step in on short notice coming off a fight in early August which he won via unanimous decision. Patrick is coming off a loss to Scott Holtzman that snapped a three-fight winning streak under the UFC banner. He's currently listed as roughly a (+195) betting underdog as of the beginning of fight week.

Vargas is still dealing with an injury and the UFC and Patrick's camp have been searching for a replacement opponent for the UFC event on September 12. Patrick will be making his first appearance in the octagon since October of 2018.
September fight booked
August 13, 2020
Patrick will take on Rodrigo Vargas in a lightweight matchup at the UFC event on September 12, MMAJunkie reports.
Patrick was last supposed to fight on July 18 against Marc Diakiese, but ultimately pulled out for an undisclosed reason. This will be his first appearance in the Octagon since October of 2018, but he stands as a (-270) betting favorite with fight night just a few weeks away.
Scratched from July 18 card
June 13, 2020

Patrick just had his fight rebooked a few days ago after his initial one fell through due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but he now won't be able to take part in the bout. The UFC has reportedly found a replacement quickly in the form of Rafael Fiziev.
