Prazeres was released by the UFC on Tuesday at his own request, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prazeres hasn't won a UFC fight since 2018, though he's only stepped into the Octagon twice since then while missing two years due to a PED suspension. He was submitted by Shavkat Rakhmonov in June, dropping his UFC record to 10-4.

Prazeres lost to Shavkat Rakhmonov via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:10 of Round 2 at UFC Vegas 30 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
In his first fight back from a two-year suspension, Prazeres was dominated by an opponent that entered with nearly a 10-inch reach advantage. Rakhmonov landed 21 significant strikes compared to just five for Prazeres in the first round, in addition to being credited with a takedown, a submission attempt and 3:25 worth of control time. He landed a few shots in Round 2, but a spinning wheel kick rocked Prazeres and proved to be the beginning of the end. Rakhmonov landed another knee before putting Prazeres on his back and raining ground-and-pound. He took the back of Prazeres in a scramble and locked in the choke that forced him to tap. Prazeres was once on a eight-fight UFC winning streak, but he's now 39 years old and finds himself at a crossroads after losing back-to-back fights.

Prazeres will fight Shavkat Rakhmonov at the UFC's event on June 26, Ag. Fight reports.
ANALYSIS
Prazeres has been reinstated after a two-year sanction received in March of 2019. Given that he suffered a crushing loss in his last UFC action, June's matchup will represent a key chance for Prazeres to resume his career on the right foot.

Prazeres lost to Ismail Naurdiev via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 26-30) at UFC Fight Night 145 in Prague, Czech Republic on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The conventional wisdom heading into this fight was that Prazeres would be able to easily get Naurdiev to the ground as other fighters have on the regional scene. That simply wasn't the case, however, as the newcomer was able to stuff the vast majority of attempts from his opponent, while also hitting sweeps when he did find himself on bottom. All that unsuccessful grappling seemed to take its toll on the Brazilian, who appeared too worn down to do much of anything by the time Round 3 began. The loss represents a crushing setback for Prezares, who was riding an eight-fight winning streak heading into this contest. He falls to 26-3 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.

February 8, 2019
Prazeres will take on UFC newcomer Ismail Naurdiev in a welterweight matchup at UFC Prague on Feb. 23, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prazeres was originally scheduled to take on Ramazan Emeev, but Emeev was forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury. He'll now draw "The Australian Wonderboy," a 22-year-old who already has 19 professional fights. Naurdiev most recently competed for X Fight Nights, but his four previous fights have been under the banner of a fast-growing Absolute Championship Akhmat promotion. Prazeres, on the other hand, will enter 15 years his senior with significantly more top-level experience, winning his last eight UFC fights dating back to 2015.
