Prazeres lost to Ismail Naurdiev via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 26-30) at UFC Fight Night 145 in Prague, Czech Republic on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The conventional wisdom heading into this fight was that Prazeres would be able to easily get Naurdiev to the ground as other fighters have on the regional scene. That simply wasn't the case, however, as the newcomer was able to stuff the vast majority of attempts from his opponent, while also hitting sweeps when he did find himself on bottom. All that unsuccessful grappling seemed to take its toll on the Brazilian, who appeared too worn down to do much of anything by the time Round 3 began. The loss represents a crushing setback for Prezares, who was riding an eight-fight winning streak heading into this contest. He falls to 26-3 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.

Prazeres will take on UFC newcomer Ismail Naurdiev in a welterweight matchup at UFC Prague on Feb. 23, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prazeres was originally scheduled to take on Ramazan Emeev, but Emeev was forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury. He'll now draw "The Australian Wonderboy," a 22-year-old who already has 19 professional fights. Naurdiev most recently competed for X Fight Nights, but his four previous fights have been under the banner of a fast-growing Absolute Championship Akhmat promotion. Prazeres, on the other hand, will enter 15 years his senior with significantly more top-level experience, winning his last eight UFC fights dating back to 2015.
Sparks out Bartosz Fabinski

Prazeres defeated Bartosz Fabinski via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:02 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 140 on Saturday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
ANALYSIS
Prazeres stormed out of the gate, landing a beautiful look-off overhand right flush on Fabinski's chin. It was academic from there, as Prazeres kept the heat on his opponent before sealing the mounted guillotine choke finish. Prazeres said after the fight that he wants to move back to lightweight but given his past struggles on the scale and his 2-0 record in the new division, the decision to move back down seems like a questionable one. In any event, Prazeres moves to 26-2 as a result of the victory.
Gets Bartosz Fabinski in Argentina

Prazeres will take on Bartosz Fabinski in a welterweight matchup at UFC Argentina on Nov. 17, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prazeres currently finds himself in the midst of a seven-fight winning streak, while Fabinski has been victorious in each of his first three UFC bouts. Of those ten wins, however, only two of them were not of the decision variety -- both submission wins by Prazeres. What will likely be unfavorable "odds to finish" numbers limits the fantasy upside of both fighters, in addition to the fact that each land less than 2.50 significant strikes per minute in the UFC. Should you choose either fighter in a lineup, the majority of the scoring would seemingly come from takedowns and advances.
Starts welterweight run with a win at UFC Chile

Prazeres defeated Zak Cummings via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Santiago, Chile.
ANALYSIS
Prazeres was forced to move up after continually missing weight at lightweight. Despite the move up in weight, he was still able to deliver a vintage performance. He landed takedowns early and then relied on his power punches to carry him to a decision. His power punches were pretty clearly not having the same effect at welterweight, but it was enough to get the job done. It was not a particularly strong performance, and the crowd did not like it. However, a win is a win.
