Ray (undisclosed) withdrew from his scheduled fight against Marc Diakiese on Monday, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ray returned to the win column in October and was looking to build on his momentum against Diekiese, but he withdrew from the fight for an undisclosed reason. It's unclear when Ray will return to the Octagon. Jai Herbert signed a contract with the UFC on Monday and will step in to take Ray's place against Diakiese.

Ray will take on Marc Diakite at UFC London on March 21, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It will be an all-British battle, with the Scottish Ray taking on the English Diakite. Diakite is undefeated on his home island, but Ray has lost his last two fights there, falling to Kajan Johnson by split decision in 2018 in London and getting knocked out by Paul Felder in 2017 in Glasgow.
Takes close decision over Michael Johnson

Ray defeated Michael Johnson via majority decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
Ray probably got somewhat lucky with the decision here. After two rounds, Johnson held the striking advantage and appeared to be on his way to winning a decision. However, the third round was a different story. Ray scored a takedown and took the back. From there he got loose with his striking and ended up landing 28 significant ground strikes. A 10-8 score for the third round would have been entirely warranted. Instead, two of the three judges awarded 29-28 cards to Ray. The Scottish fighter needed this win as he had lost three of his last four prior to this fight.

Ray will take on Michael Johnson in at UFC Singapore on October 26, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's been a tough go for Ray over the last two years, as the lightweight has dropped three of his last four fights in the octagon. Most recently, he was knocked out by Leonardo Santos in the first round of their bout at UFC Fight Night 153 in June. He still boasts a 6-4 record overall under the promotion, but he hasn't been in peak form as of late, especially against more dynamic athletes.
Gets crushed in Sweden

Ray lost to Leonardo Santos via KO (punch) at 2:17 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 153 in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Ray was clearly having trouble negotiating the length of his opponent Saturday, which ultimately resulted in the 29-year-old leaving himself open for a stunning counter shot which put him out on the canvas. Ray has seen moments of success in the Octagon but now stands at just 6-4 in the organization, which may suggest his skill set is not quite diverse enough to win consistently against more gifted athletes. He falls to 22-9 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.

Ray will fight Leonardo Santos in a lightweight bout at UFC Stockholm on June 1.
ANALYSIS
Ray most recently put an end to a two-fight losing streak that had dated back to mid-2017 after he defeated Jessin Ayari via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 138. It boosted his record in the UFC to 6-3, while "Braveheart" boasts an impressive overall professional record of 22-8. His opponent, Santos, is 39 years old and has not stepped inside the Octagon since October of 2016, but the veteran is still riding a streak of 11 straight fights without a loss.
