Pulls out of Gane fight
HeavyweightUFC
September 28, 2020
Abdurakhimov is out of his scheduled Oct. 17 heavyweight matchup against Ciryl Gane due to "health issues," MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Things simply have not gone Abdurakhimov's way since a lopsided loss to Curtis Blaydes back in September of 2019. After serving a long medical suspension, Abdurakhimov was originally scheduled for a matchup with Gane in April, but it has since been canceled or rescheduled on three separate occasions due to unforeseen circumstances on both sides. Now, the UFC will bring in newcomer Ante Delija to fight Gane in Aburakhimov's stead.

August 30, 2020
Abdurakhimov will now face Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight matchup at a UFC event scheduled for Oct. 17, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS

Gets another shot at Gane
HeavyweightUFC
July 15, 2020
Abdurakhimov will now take on Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for Sep. 19, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Abdurakhimov was scheduled to face Gane in an April 18 matchup that was eventually cancelled due to COVID-19, but Gane ended up withdrawing anyway due to a collapsed lung. The bout was rescheduled for July 11, but plans changed yet again, as Gane was re-booked to take on Sergey Pavlovich on Aug. 8. With Pavlovich now withdrawing from that fight, the UFC will turn back to this originally-scheduled matchup. Look for Abdurakhimov to enter as an underdog, as he's giving up height, reach and most statistical edges to the undefeated Gane.
Off July 11 card
HeavyweightUFC
June 15, 2020
Abdurakhimov is no longer in line to face Cyril Gane on July 11, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
This was a bout announced before the official release of the UFC's Fight Island location, but it's unclear if that had anything to do with the bout cancellation. In Abdurakhimov's place, Sergei Pavlovic is expected to step in and face Gane.
Slated for July 11 bout
HeavyweightUFC

Abdurakhimov is scheduled to fight Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight match at UFC's July 11 event, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Abdurakhimov was initially set to fight Gane at UFC 249, but his opponent was forced to withdraw due to pneumothorax. The heavyweight was riding a three-fight winning streak before losing to Curtis Blayes in September, so he'll look to get back on track with a victory in July.
