Borg announced his retirement from MMA on Thursday, MMAJunkie.com reports.
Borg was released from his UFC contract on Aug. 7, so his announcement of his retirement Thursday does not come as a shock. His final fight was a loss to Rick Simon via split decision at UFC Fight Night in May.

Borg (undisclosed) was released from his UFC contract Friday, MMAJunkie.com reports.
Borg was removed from two consecutive fights, with his most recent being for an undisclosed reason, but he'll fight under a new banner if he intends to continue his career. The 27-year-old's most recent fight ended in a loss to Ricky Simon via split decision at UFC Fight Night in Jacksonville in May. Borg had struggles making weight in both the flyweight and bantamweight divisions during his time with the UFC.

Borg has withdrawn from his scheduled matchup against Nathan Maness on Saturday due to undisclosed reasons, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
It's been a stretch of tough luck for Borg, who has now withdrawn from the last two fights he has had scheduled. All signs were pointing to him getting back in the win column for this matchup too, as he was set to enter as a (-255) betting favorite. Instead, Maness is in line to take on Johnny Munoz at featherweight, pending finalization of the matchup.

Borg (personal) will square off versus Nathan Maness at the Aug. 1 event in Los Vegas, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Borg withdrew from his previously scheduled bout in mid-June for personal reasons but quickly found a new fight in the future. The veteran will see a newcomer in Nathan Maness, who carries an 11-1-0 professional record into the bout. Borg will cede a ton of size to his opponent, who comes in six inches taller and with a nine-inch reach advantage.

Borg's scheduled fight was announced on short notice, but personal reasons will force him to withdraw. The promotion is searching for a replacement to take on Dvalishvili at the event.
