Destroys Ross Pearson in Philadelphia
March 30, 2019
Green defeated Ross Pearson via TKO (punches) at 2:52 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 2 on Saturday in Philadelphia.
A win over Pearson in early-2019 means absolutely nothing, but Green did what he had to do against his washed up opponent. Green pushed forward for an easy takedown and smashed Pearson with a couple shots to the side of the head and that was all she wrote. Although he is just 3-3 in his first six UFC bouts, Green had a successful run in Bellator earlier in his career and he has more talent than that record would lead you to believe.

Draws a vet in Philly
January 31, 2019
Green will take on Ross Pearson in a lightweight matchup at UFC Philadelphia on March 30.
Green is 2-2 across four UFC fights, most recently dropping a unanimous decision to Mairbek Taisumov in lackluster fight where each combatant landed just 27 significant strikes. He'll look to bounce back against a veteran of 25 UFC fights, though it's worth noting Pearson has been skidding of late, losing five of his last six. Green will also enter the cage with a four-inch reach advantage.
Loses via unanimous decision in Moscow
September 15, 2018
Green was defeated by Mairbek Taisumov via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Moscow on Saturday.
Green did not have a great strategy in this fight. He stayed on the outside and tried to strike with Taisumov, which is Taisumov's strength. In the first round Green absorbed a lot of kicks and didn't attempt to wrestle, which is his strength. The second round brought some takedown attempts, but Green was not able to complete any of them. He did land a nice left hand that opened up a cut on the Russian. However, Taisumov was the clear aggressor during the fight and green was on his back foot for most of the contest.
To face heavy opponent
September 14, 2018
Green will move forward with his scheduled lightweight fight against Mairbek Taisumov, despite Taisumov missing weight by five pounds during Friday morning's weigh-in.
Green will earn 40 percent of Taisumov's fight purse due to the bad weight miss, though that doesn't change the fact that he'll enter as a (+400) betting underdog against a heavy opponent. Perhaps the bad weight cut will have other effects on the performance of Taisumov, but the cards remain stacked against Green, who is heading into enemy territory in Russia to face an opponent who is widely regarded as the more skilled fighter.
Involved in fatal crash
August 21, 2018
Green was involved in a car crash over the weekend that resulted in two fatalities, Marc Raimondi of reports.
Green had his license suspended following an incident in April, and was recently ticketed for for driving with a revoked license on Aug. 2. Both of the incidents resulted in pending charges prior to the fatal crash over the weekend. The tragic situation is currently under investigation. Green is scheduled to fight Mairbeck Taisumov at UFC Moscow on Sept. 15, but it is unclear if that bout will now be in jeopardy. Expect an update once the UFC comments on the situation.
Headed to Moscow to face Mairbek Taisumov
August 7, 2018
Green will face Mairbek Taisumov in a lightweight matchup at UFC Moscow on Sept. 15.
Green is currently 2-2 with the promotion, with all of his fights eventually going to the judges. His last win against Gleison Tibau may have been the most impressive, as he won the battle of significant strikes by a score of 77-to-28. The UFC seems to be recognizing his progress, as he'll get a big step up in competition this time around. One might even think Green is being punished for an unknown reason, as the UFC is sending him to Moscow to face a Russia native that has won five consecutive fights via KO/TKO within two rounds. The two men match up nearly identically in terms of physical measurables, and while Green owns a slight edge in volume striking, Taisumov holds the advantage in wrestling-based stats. An upset win here for Green could potentially skyrocket his career, though it's worth noting the UFC's 155-pound division is tremendously deep.
