Suffers first career loss at UFC 224
WelterweightUFC
May 12, 2018
Mina lost to Ramazan Emeev via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 224 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro.
ANALYSIS
Mina was not competitive in the first loss of his professional career. Hopelessly outclassed on the feet by the younger, quicker Emeev, Mina attempted five takedowns and connected on just one of them. Mina could get nothing going throughout the course of the fight despite the fact he had the crowd behind him in his native Brazil. The fact Mina was undefeated prior to Saturday is misleading. He turned 36 years old last week and he hasn't fought anyone of note throughout the course of his career. There's nothing to see here.

To host Emeev in Brazil
WelterweightUFC
February 7, 2018
Mina will take on Ramazan Emeev at a May 12 pay-per-view event in Rio de Janeiro, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite joining the UFC later in his fighting career, the 35-year-old Mina has experienced tremendous success to this point. The Kings MMA product is undefeated as a professional, and 3-0 under the UFC banner. Though he'll have the home crowd behind him for the May event, it would be unwise to underestimate the 30-year-old Emeev, who is one of the latest Dagestani fighters to join the UFC roster. Many of Emeev's predecessors have enjoyed success in the Octagon and are positioning themselves for title runs.
Remains undefeated with KO victory

Mina improved to 13-0 by defeating Mike Pyle via KO (flying knee) at 1:17 of round two at UFC Fight Night 90 on Thursday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Mina certainly ended Thursday's prelims with a bang, as his knee sent Pyle to the canvas before he finished him with hammer fists. He appeared to be winning after the first round, but left nothing left to interpretation after quickly taking care of the 40-year-old Pyle in the second. Mina may not have many big names on his resume, but continues to prove why he's a welterweight worth watching. At 34 years old, it's now or never if he wants to make a run in the division.

Mina defeated Yoshihiro Akiyama via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night 79 on Saturday in Seoul, South Korea.
ANALYSIS
Mina's big moment came at the end of the second round, when a big overhand right sent Akiyama stumbling to the ground. Akiyama would be saved by the bell, as Mina poured on relentless ground-and-pound right until the end of the round. While Mina spent the third round completely gassed, the "Soldier of God" was able to leave the Olympic Gymnastics Arena with his undefeated record intact. Mina, who is listed as fighting out of Hong Kong, has made each of his UFC appearances in Asia (his promotional debut came at UFC Fight Night 48 in Macau, China). Mina's ability to travel will likely dictate his ceiling as a fighter -- being undefeated is impressive, but Mina's got his work cut out for him in a stacked welterweight division.
