October 21, 2017
Hamilton will no longer face Adam Wiezorek at UFC Fight Night 118 on Saturday, Mike Bohn of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
There wasn't an exact reason for the removal given in the UFC's official statement, but the MMA Junkie report suggests that security concerns inside the arena played a role. The two heavyweights will now square off in Sydney Australia on Nov. 19.
Release possible after another terrible effort
HeavyweightUFC
September 16, 2017
Hamilton lost to Daniel Spitz via TKO (punches) at 0:24 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Hamilton protested the stoppage of referee Dan Miragliotta, but it appeared to be the right decision. Hamilton pushed forward for a takedown early on and got caught on the side of the head with a punch that led to the finish. Hamilton is a massive human being and competes in a division that needs all the help it can get, but he has now suffered three straight first-round stoppage losses. He could very easily be looking at a release.
Knocked out by Marcel Fortuna in Houston
HeavyweightUFC
February 4, 2017
Hamilton lost to Marcel Fortuna via KO (punch) at 3:10 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
Another consistently inconsistent effort from Hamilton. After a strong opening few minutes, Hamilton got clipped on the side of the head with a shot that scrambled his equilibrium and put an immediate end to the fight. Freight Train got up very quickly, but it became obvious he had no idea what was going on as he tried to grab referee Herb Dean. Any man of Hamilton's size is going to hit hard, but he doesn't have the other necessary skills to be an effective fighter in the UFC. He has lost two-staight and four of his last five.
Falls to Francis Ngannou via submission in Albany
HeavyweightUFC
December 10, 2016
Hamilton lost to Francis Ngannou via submission (kimura) at 1:57 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 102 on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Hamilton started the fight on a good note, as he landed a takedown before grabbing onto a body lock in the ensuing scramble, but Ngannou's strength is on another level, and he was able to pry Hamilton's hand away and wrestle him to the ground to begin the Kimura. There is no shame in losing to Ngannou, but Hamilton's inconsistency continues to plague him. He is now 3-4 in his last seven fights, and has yet to win two straight contests in the UFC.
Added to UFC Albany
