Augusto Montano

Dodger
Release a near certainty after another dreadful effort
WelterweightUFC
September 17, 2016
Montano lost to Belal Muhammad via TKO (punches) at 4:19 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Hidalgo, Texas.
ANALYSIS
If there's a worse fighter on the UFC roster (other than CM Punk) than Montano, we challenge you to find him or her. The 31-year-old has virtually no athletic ability, little power, and he hadn't fought in 15 months prior to Saturday due to a failed drug test. Not only did Montano eat 118 total strikes from Muhammad over the course of the bout, he also allowed his opponent to land three of four takedown attempts. Simply put, it was another dreadful effort for Dodger. There is no reason whatsoever that the UFC shouldn't cut bait here.

Augusto Montano: Fails Drug Test, Suspended By UFC For Year
WelterweightUFC
July 17, 2015
Due to a failed drug test suffered after his fight at UFC 188 on July 13 in Mexico City, Montano has received and accepted a one-year suspension for violating the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy, UFC.com reports.
ANALYSIS
That was the same card in which Gilbert Melendez failed his drug test and was also suspended a year. Considering how terrible and passive Montano looked in the fight, it was hard to tell that he took anything illegal. We won't see him until mid-July 2016, at the earliest.
Augusto Montano: Loses Unanimous Decision Saturday
WelterweightUFC
June 13, 2015
Montano lost to Cathel Pendred via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 188 on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Montano deserved exactly what he got. With the entire crowd firmly behind him, Montano simply stood around and did nothing. He was so inactive in Round 1 that referee Herb Dean threatened to take a point from him for "not engaging". Why Montano was so inactive is beyond comprehension. He blew a gigantic opportunity on a huge stage.
WelterweightUFC
June 8, 2015
Montano will enter Saturday's welterweight bout at UFC 188 in Mexico City as the favorite over Cathal Pendred.
ANALYSIS
Montano's last six bouts were finished in the first round by either knockout or submission, with the Mexico native emerging victorious in each. He'll look to keep the hot streak going with his second consecutive win in the UFC promotion.
