Batgerel lost to Heili Alateng via unanimous decision (27-29, 27-29, 27-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Shenzhen, China.

ANALYSIS
It's rare to see a fighter drop a clear cut unanimous decision when he out lands his opposition by a count of 85-36 in the significant strike department, but it happened to the debuting Batgerel in this one. His advances on the feet were more than cancelled out by his inability to defend the takedown. There's no guarantee the 30-year-old Legend FC veteran gets another opportunity with the UFC. There's just not much here. Even though he didn't get the result, he'll walk away with a $50,000 bonus after earning Fight of the Night honors, which may be enough to get him another chance.
