Loses hard-fought split decision at Saitama Super Arena in Japan
StrawweightUFC
September 22, 2017
Jeong was defeated by Syuri Kondo via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Friday in Japan.
ANALYSIS
Jeong is a young fighter and certainly showed her willingness to engage in a war with this performance. The Korean fighter never stopped throwing in the face of heavy pressure applied by Kondo. Jeon was constantly on her back foot, but showed a good ability to catch Kondo when the Japanese fighter rushed in. Her downfall came when she would turn and run to escape the pressure, which never looks good in the eyes of the judges. The upside for Jeong is she is only 20 years old and has a lot of time to grow as a fighter. She looked great against an undefeated opponent tonight and is a fighter to watch in the coming years in the strawweight division.

Falls to J.J. Aldrich in UFC debut
StrawweightUFC
June 10, 2017
Jeon lost to J.J. Aldrich via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night 110 on Saturday in Auckland, New Zealand.
ANALYSIS
After missing weight for her UFC debut on Friday, the 19-year-old Jeon had a rough go of it on Saturday. It was clear in watching Jeon that she has natural explosiveness and athletic ability, but she is still working on the finer points of the sport. Quite a few of her issues appear to be correctable with more experience and better coaching.
