Chris Dempsey

Becomes Ed Ruth's latest victim at Bellator 186
MiddleweightUFC
November 3, 2017
Dempsey lost to Ed Ruth via KO (punch) at 0:27 of Round 2 at Bellator 186 on Friday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
Dempsey is at his best when he can mix his wrestling and his striking. Unfortunately in this fight, he was at an obvious wrestling disadvantage. Ruth was able to counter and win all the wrestling exchanges in the first round. Dempsey landed some hard shots, but Ruth connected and finished the fight in the second round. From 2014 to 2016, Dempsey went 1-3 in the UFC. Since leaving that promotion, he has dropped both of his bouts.

Chris Dempsey: Brutally finished by Scott Askham in London
MiddleweightUFC
February 27, 2016
Dempsey lost to Scott Askham via KO (strikes) at 4:45 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Dempsey smartly moved back down to middleweight after dabbling at light heavyweight for a fight, but he was once against dominated. The highlight of Dempsey's night may have been when referee Leon Roberts threatened to dock him a point for grabbing a fence. The finish came when Askham landed a left high kick flush to Dempsey's chin. Dempsey is a poor athlete and he has now been brutally knocked out in the first round of back-to-back fights. He is officially on the chopping block.
Chris Dempsey: Knocked Out By Jonathan Wilson In Nashville
MiddleweightUFC
August 8, 2015
Dempsey lost to Jonathan Wilson via KO at 0:50 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
Dempsey's move up to light heavyweight didn't go well. Coming off a surprising win over Eddie Gordon in April, Dempsey got right back to his losing ways on Saturday. He has limited athletic ability and he's going to struggle against the majority of fighters that he faces. If Dempsey was smart he would move back down to middleweight.

Dempsey will move up to light heavyweight and replaced the injured Jared Cannonier (ribs) against Jonathan Wilson at UFC Fight Night on August 8 in Nashville, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Dempsey is taking the fight on very short notice, so he must feel comfortable in his ability to compete in the higher weight class. Dempsey picked up his first UFC win, a split decision over former Ultimate Fighter winner Eddie Gordon, in April in Newark, New Jersey.
