Pulled from UFC Sunrise card
Wisely (33-9-1) posted Saturday on his personal Facebook account that he's no longer scheduled to fight Gilbert Burns (14-3-0) at UFC Sunrise on April 27 due to health-related reasons.
ANALYSIS
Wisely revealed that after meeting with a doctor in Las Vegas ahead of the fight, he was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a condition that can lead to periods of an elevated heart rate. Since the 34-year-old has been fighting with the condition for 15 years, he's optimistic the diagnosis won't spell an end to his career. Nevertheless, he'll still need to receive clearance from medical professionals before being allowed to re-enter the Octagon.
