Will fight Max Griffin at TUF Latin America 3
Montano will face Max Griffin at TUF Latin America 3, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Montano lost a three-round bout to Randy Brown via guillotine submission earlier this month but is apparently anxious to get back in the octagon. Choked out by Randy Brown Saturday
Montano lost to Randy Brown via submission (guillotine) at 0:18 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Hidalgo, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Montano had all the momentum heading into Round 3, but he left his neck exposed and that was all she wrote. Montano started slowly, but he found his rhythm as the first round came to a close and he was the far more effective fighter in the second frame. As Montano pushed forward for a takedown attempt early in the third round, Brown caught him. Every single stat in this fight was in the Mexican's favor, except for the end result. Montano won Season 2 of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America, but he is nothing more than roster depth.

Erick Montano: Takes TUF: Latin America welterweight crown with split decision win
Montano defeated Enrique Marin via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) to win The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America welterweight title at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Monterrey, Mexico.
ANALYSIS
After the third round came to a close, commentator Jon Anik mentioned that there would be a sudden death fourth round if the scorecards were tied. Thankfully, for all involved, that didn't come to pass. It was a close fight (as the scorecards indicate), but it's hard to get too worked up about the decision one way or another. These are mediocre fighters who aren't fighting quality competition. There's a high probability that this will go down as the highlight of Montano's career.
