Guilherme Viana

Light HeavyweightBellator
June 29, 2016
Viana will face Philippe Lins during the light heavyweight feature at Bellator 159 on July 22.
ANALYSIS
Viana has lost just two fights, both to decision, in his first nine fights. He has won five of his seven wins by knockout. The 30-year old Brazilian fighter is coming off of a huge knockout over Houston Alexander in the fight's second round in November 2015. Viana has three inches on Lins, and may be able to used that to his advantage. He'll look to come out hard on July 22 and notch another win by TKO to his resume.

Viana defeated Houston Alexander via TKO (Doctor Stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 2 at Bellator 146 on Friday in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
ANALYSIS
Viana tuned up the 43-year-old Alexander throughout the course of their two-round bout. After the second round, referee John McCarthy consulted a ringside physician, who called an end to the fight. Viana earned his lopsided line, as he used a persistent jab to keep Alexander at bay. Viana earned his first victory under the Bellator banner Friday, and will seek a step-up in competition for his next bout.

Viana will enter his light heavyweight fight with Houston Alexander as a -400 favorite at Bellator 146 on Friday in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
ANALYSIS
Viana enters the bout as a four-to-one favorite despite losing his most recent fight to Francis Carmont. Viana has earned four of his six wins via KO/TKO -- a primary reason, no doubt, he was selected to square off against the brawling Houston Alexander. Viana, who has dropped fights to Carmont and UFC veteran Rodney Wallace, will look for his first victory under the Bellator banner against the 16-12-1 Alexander.
