Jeisla Chaves
A Braba

Brazil
Wins bloody war to earn contract
Chaves defeated Sofia Montenegro via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, she was one of five fighters to be officially awarded a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Chaves seemed unprepared for the aggression of Montenegro early, as the Argentine marched her down and landed clean shots. "A braba" recovered nicely, ultimately using her footwork and frame to dance around the outside and bust her opponent up as she closed distance. While Chaves clearly won round 3, a strong argument can be made that Montenegro should have gotten her hand raised, which may have influenced UFC President Dana White's decision to award a contract to both fighters. Chaves has just six professional MMA fights under her belt, but showed tremendous composure to withstand punishment and work her way back into the fight. The combination of skill and toughness makes her an interesting addition to the flyweight division. Chaves moved to 6-0-0 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
