Strader lost to Chad Anheliger via TKO (punches) at 3:33 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

It's a disappointing result for Strader in a fight in which he got off to a pretty good start. Searching for his first UFC victory in his second bout with the company, Strader controlled the opening frame on the strength of two successful takedown attempts. It was all downhill from there. He was knocked down once in each of the final two rounds, including a left hand which led to the finish in the latter stages of Round 3. It's a safe bet that the 30-year-old California native will be fighting for his job his next time out. Strader's margin for error has evaporated following his first two fights with the promotion.

Strader struggled to recover after getting hit by the heavy-handed Jackson despite having some early success landing low kicks. Jackson knocked down Strader twice. Strader didn't defend well enough to continue for Keith Peterson's liking after the second knockdown, so Peterson stopped the fight. This was a challenging test for Strader's UFC debut, so it's understandable why he lost. If Strader gets an entire camp, he can certainly have a better showing in the future.
