Alers and Cole Miller fought to a no contest at 1:44 of Round 2 at UFC on FOX 17 in Orlando on Saturday night after Miller suffered an eye injury and could not continue.
ANALYSIS
As UFC color man Joe Rogan mentioned during the broadcast, this is becoming a fairly regular occurrence due to the gloves that UFC fighters are wearing these days. Unfortunately, no one seems to have come up with a better idea as of yet. Alers was very upset after the stoppage was announced by referee Herb Dean, but it was an accidental eye poke that caused the fight to end and there isn't a whole lot that anyone could have done differently.
